My Last First Day at Clemson

So, today was my last first day of classes at Clemson. I feel as if it should be a nostalgic day which I should remember forever, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about it. Oddly enough, I did feel a lot different walking into the doors of Brackett this morning for my 8 am class. First off, I was a lot more comfortable walking into the building then I have been at any other time. I used to get really anxious the first time I walked into classrooms, but today it wasn't like that. This is something which I have done before and I was almost excited about completing this phase in my life. I also realized that this was going to be my last semester in the classroom and I really need to enjoy it. I need to make the most of this year and have a positive outlook on completing my years at Clemson. So overall, walking into Brackett this morning I was very comfortable and super excited about seeing what this year will bring.

My day was actually very busy. I got up early this morning and was actually able to get out of the door on time this morning. I had class from 8:00-9:55. After this, I headed straight to work. I was at work by 10:20. Following this, I worked and had to go back to class at 4:00. Then I came home to work out, have dinner, and shower. I am now spending some quality time with my puppy and kitty. It's going to be one very busy year, but I am really looking forward to it.

I'm hoping to work out in the morning before I go into work tomorrow. I am trying to finally get back in shape. Since my freshman year at Clemson, I have been very slack about working out and staying fit and watching my body. This year, I have realized that it is time for me to care more about myself and my body. In the past years, I have put it last and I no longer need to do this. I also work at GNC, so being there for over a year now I have realized  the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. Working out has been shown to improve many different facets of your life as well. I have also seen these one and two articles at MSNBC.com which show how exercise can be very useful to every individual. I challenge my readers out there to exercise as well. So, one thing I know about this year. I want to exercise more and improve my health.

Hopefully I will have time at another point this week to write another blog, but if not, I will be back soon!

A Few Days Off

I have a few days off on in a row, so I've been catching up and doing some random things. I have been tidying up around my apartment because my mom is coming to my apartment tomorrow and I have finally had some time to get things done. I finally have most of my stuff put away in the spot where I want them. I only a few decorating things left to do, but that will take some time. I have gotten some great ideas about storage, so I will be going to IKEA once I have some money to spend. I'm opting on spending a little more money in order to have a piece I can carry with me for some time. So, my apartment is fitting into place!

Yesterday was a very exciting day. I went to visit my cousin, Meg, and my Aunt Kathy. I met with Meg at her place in Indian Land and went to the mall with her and her two boys, Morgan and Nate. Morgan is just over a year old and a very sweet little boy. Though, apparently I was good enough to receive two "baby blessings," aka spit up, while we were out the mall. This smelt like cottage cheese. So, I got to spend half the day smelling like cottage cheese. Meg was VERY sweet and bought me a new outfit (Thank you so so much!)  so that I would not go to dinner with her mother smelling like the baby blessing. Nate got a new Build-A-Bear, which became Darth Vader. He is a very cute little boy. And I mean little. He is 6, and soon his younger brother will out grow him. After this lovely adventure and a very nice visit with Meg, I drove to Tega Cay to see Aunt Kathy and Uncle Charles. These two treated to me a lovely dinner at a local place called Steve's. It was very good food, the flounder was wonderful. (Thank you both for the meal!) After this we went to a new park on the river. It's a nice little trail that winds around next to a river and it was nice outside, a little muggy, but that was fine. It was nice to walk off some of the food. The conversation was great, as I am not used to always having someone to talk to and visiting with family is amazing. After this it was time for me to leave, so we headed back to their house and I headed home. The visit with all of them was amazing, and I was yet again reminded about the amazing family I have. One the way home, I was so tired I missed the exit which makes the trip shorter because I was so tired, but I got home okay.

So now on to other things in my life... I have decided to get rid of my adorable kitten, Peter, due to the fact that he has been driving my allergies crazy. I do not like have itchy eyes and a scratchy throat. He is very loving, sometimes too much so for myself. At the moment he is sitting on my shoulder, putting his tail in my face, making it very hard to be able to type. He loves to put his rear end near my face, something I am not too fond of. So, if you know anyone who would like a lovely kitten, please let me know.

The next few days will be busy but relaxing as I prepare for school and do some more visiting. If anyone has any idea on what I should be when I grow up, please let me know.

Let me also do a shout out to my brother-in-law, Steven. I just found out he receive a job offer, which he has taken, with the Lexington Police Department. I am very pleased to have found this out, though it took over a week to find out and it was from him, so congrats brother!

Blog Name

So, I used to have a blog back in the day, but it was deleted for some reasons that no longer matter. Sometimes, people will use being honest against you. My sister and brother-in-law recently started blogging, and it really is a good way to keep up with those around you. I decided that it was time to start blogging again and try and keep up with it in my senior year of college. Yes, I am now a senior in college and am not used to saying this at all.

Anyways, back to the title of my blog. I asked Nikki and Steven about what to name my blog, well only Nikki really but of course there was no cool ideas from these two (I trusted Steven more then that). Anyways, "A Random Guess..." It was the first thing that I came up with and I like it. First off, I wanted some blog title that had my initials in it. For those of you who do not realize my initials are A.R.G. And since my last name is Guess, I figured the title would be fitting. Also, there will be a lot of uncertains in my life at this point in time and I will most likely need some help and opinions while making these decisions. And I know that my family is not short when it comes to opinions. So, now that is a short version of how I came up with the name of my blog. It might not make any sense and someone may have a better idea, so please let me know.

So, let me tell you some about the start of my new school  year. I have moved apartments and I really like where I'm at. It's a very comfortable 2 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment. The living room and kitchen are pretty good in size. Actually, the kitchen is really big for me, but there does not seem to be enough storage space. I only have 2 closets, 1 in each room, and a TINY pantry for storage. So, I am still trying to find places to store things. I also do technically have a room mate, but she's not staying here and is trying to find someone to sublease. But at this point in time I really do enjoy having my own little place. I start school next week, which will be interesting. So hopefully I get all settled in before then!
